The headquarters building for Adventist Health System is designed to create a place that honors the organization’s brand and mission while maintaining proper stewardship financially, environmentally and socially.

As the administrative parent company that oversees Florida Health Hospitals, the AHS headquarters reflects the client’s symbiotic approach to healing (combining faith and medicine). The project blurs the line between interior and exterior with its north facing atrium that visually links the use to the natural environment beyond. A large terra-cotta screen element responds to the local presence and use of clay materials in Florida in a new and innovative way by protecting the staff from the harsh sun to the south and west.
