In celebration of MLK Day, Little is launching a weeklong book drive to collect culturally inclusive books for literacy nonprofits in our local communities. Dr. King acknowledged and fought for systemic change. Culturally inclusive books contain characters of color, including main characters representing a minority point of view. They help facilitate belonging and build empathy with all who read them. Books children are exposed to shape how they see the world, and exposing them to diverse literature is a way to make sure they see the world as it is—wonderfully diverse!
The book drive will run from today, January 16 – Friday, January 20.
