Sprouts Farmers Market is one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food in the United States, operating 400 stores across 23 states.
With an ambitious plan to expand its footprint along the East Coast, Sprouts required a trusted partner to seamlessly integrate their brand identity and store standards into diverse site-specific projects. Since 2016, Little has been at the forefront of this effort, helping Sprouts grow through both ground-up construction and takeover projects.
Each location brings unique site conditions, regulatory environments, and community needs, making a one-size-fits-all approach impossible. As Sprouts’ design partner, we balance brand standards with the flexibility required to adapt to local conditions while ensuring each store maintains the welcoming and fresh market experience customers love. Little’s comprehensive service approach ensures each Sprouts location is designed and delivered with precision and efficiency, from site analysis and planning through to fixture layout, documentation, and construction administration.
STEELE CREEK
An empty space reimagined in South Charlotte.
Once home to an Earth Fare grocery store, the 24,000-square-foot space in the Rivergate Shopping Center had sat vacant for years. As part of Sprouts Farmers Market’s 2023 expansion plan—which aimed to open multiple new stores across the U.S.—this location was identified as a key opportunity to breathe new life into a dormant space and bring a much-needed specialty grocery experience to the Steele Creek community. Little’s design team embraced the challenge of transforming the space, ensuring the new store embodied Sprouts’ fresh, natural, and community-focused brand.
NORTH HILLS SHOPPING CENTER
Sparking new life at North Hills
Sprouts Farmers Market’s second location in the Greenville, SC, area anchors the revitalization of the nearly 50-year-old North Hills Shopping Center. Formerly a Bi-Lo, the 23,000-square-foot space brings a fresh, modern design with shorter, wider aisles, providing a farmers’ market feel that encourages exploration and discovery. Convenient grab-and-go options are front and center near the deli, alongside a bulk department and a new-for-you section packed with fresh, unique finds. Sprouts’ arrival, alongside Aston Properties’ extensive upgrades to the shopping center, positions North Hills as a vibrant destination for Greenville’s Eastside community.
NODA
Filling a grocery gap.
Opening in summer 2025, Sprouts Farmers Market is bringing its third Charlotte location to the NoDa neighborhood, anchoring the new One NoDa Park mixed-use development. Inside the 21,000-square-foot space, the design team creatively utilizes an employee mezzanine and mechanical platform to accommodate all needed infrastructure and workspace requirements. Known for its arts scene and local pride, NoDa has long awaited a neighborhood grocery store to meet increased demand. Sprouts will offer fresh, healthy food options within walking distance of homes, shops, and entertainment, becoming a key contributor to the eclectic area’s growth while enhancing community well-being and convenience.
