Gastro MD Ambulatory Surgical Centers in Orange City, Florida, and Lake Mary, Florida, raise the bar for gastrointestinal (GI) patient care. Each location also creates a healthy, supportive environment for care teams, encouraging well-being throughout the workday.

Each project includes an operating room, multiple GI procedure rooms, flexible prep and recovery bays, and separate areas for cleaning scopes and surgical instruments. The Lake Mary location also houses a GI clinic, while the client's administrative offices are at the Orange City site.

ELEVATING THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE

Thoughtful design details that make a difference

The design prioritizes patient dignity by creating separate areas for arrival and discharge. A discharge canopy, positioned right across from the prep and recovery bays, makes the discharge process smoother and more convenient for both patients and staff.

PRIORITIZE NATURAL LIGHT

Bright, inviting spaces are found throughout the facility

Patient waiting spaces are filled with natural light and offer views of the outdoors. The patient prep and recovery areas are designed with clerestory windows placed high on the walls that let in daylight while still maintaining patient privacy, bringing light into spaces that are normally closed off from the outside.

A WELLNESS-CENTERED ATMOSPHERE

Design that supports the care team’s well-being.

Clerestory windows brighten up the typically dreary changing rooms, keeping staff connected to their environment. In the break room, large windows create a sunny, inviting space where the team can unwind and recharge.

RESULTS

Harrod Healthcare was so impressed with the design and execution of these two projects that they have engaged Little to design a new medical office building (MOB) with an ambulatory surgery center (ASC).

This continued collaboration reflects Harrod’s confidence in Little’s ability to deliver thoughtful, high-quality healthcare environments that prioritize both patient and staff well-being. The new project will further expand Harrod’s ability to offer exceptional care to the community while setting a new standard in healthcare design.
